Here’s a video that goes over all the wonderful features of this glove:

Now you know why I love this glove so much!

You Get 3 Different Heat Settings

Many heated gloves only give you one option in terms of heat. If it’s not enough you’re still going to be cold and if it’s too much your hands are going to be too hot.

The Lucent’s circumvent this problem by giving you three different heat settings – low, medium and high. When it’s only a little cold out you can just put the heater to low and be perfectly fine. When the temperature drops a little you can crank it up to medium. And when it’s sub-zero out you can put it all the way up to high.

Whatever your needs are, you’ll be taken care of.

Keep in mind, though, the higher you put the heat the faster the battery dies. It’s recommended to change heat through out the day to keep you from running out. So if you’re waiting online for the ski lift maybe crank the heat up because you’re not moving. But once you start going down hill you can put it to medium or low.

You’ll get around 8 hours on low, 5 hours on medium and 2.5 hours on high too.

Never Worry About Changing Batteries

There’s heated gloves that run on AA or AAA batteries but that’s not the case with the Lucent’s – this glove comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery.

There’s many reasons I like rechargeable batteries over disposable ones. First off, you won’t have to be constantly running to the store to buy replacements. All you have to do is plug them in and they’ll charge back up. If you’re using them to ski you can just recharge them at lunch.

You may be thinking rechargeable batteries cost more but that’s not necessarily true. While they may cost a little more up front you’ll save money over time. A lithium ion battery can last a few years. Think about how many double AA’s you’ll go through in that time.

If you get outdoors a lot in the winter you may go through over a 100 batteries! That’s a big extra cost.

The only downside to a rechargeable battery is there’s nothing you can do if you run out and don’t have an electrical outlet. With disposable batteries you can just pop new ones in.

Although, you can always purcahse a second set of lithium ion batteries to carry along with you.

It Does A Great Job Keeping Water Out

You know what the worst combination with cold is? Wetness. If you get cold and wet hands or fingers, you’ll have a zero percent chance of enjoying your day.

The Lucent’s have the most well known material on earth to prevent moisture from penetrating – Gore Tex. You’ll find Gore Tex in all kinds of outdoor gear like hiking boots, ski gloves, ski jackets, snow pants and more.

This material also does a good job keeping the wind out. This is why I say any outdoor enthusiast should consider this glove. It just has so much going for it! No matter what winter conditions you find yourself in, this product has you covered.

It’s Very Breathable Too

Like I said in the last section, cold and wet is not a combination you want to expericne. But snow and rain isn’t the only way your hands can get wet.

Your fingers and hands can sweat and get clammy too. To prevent this from happening you need a product that’s breathable and keeps moisture from building up inside. That’s exactly what you’ll get here and the Lucent has moisture wicking materials inside.

So even though this glove gives you a high amount of heat, your hands will stay dry and won’t oversweat.

This Glove Is Great Without The Heater On

I know what you might be thinking: What happens if the battery dies when I’m out on the slopes or hiking and I’m away from a power source to charge up?

The Lucen’t ensure you’re covered if this happens. Built into this glove is Enduraloft insulation, which is very high quality. In fact, if this was all this product came with and didn’t come with a heater, I would still recommend this glove for people with cold hands. That’s how much warmth it provides!

This insulation is lightweight too. This is good if you need dexterity and mobility with your hands while wearing gloves.

Going even further you get fleece liners inside. This means you’ll be even more protected from the harsh winter elements.

The Lucent’s Are Very Rugged And Durability

Imagine spending a few hundred dollars on a pair of gloves and taking them out to hike or ski. When you get out there you take a fall and they rip. How upset would you be? I know I’d be angry.

If you’re making a large investment in your gloves you want to make sure they can take a beating and they’ll last year after year.

The Lucent’s are extremely durable and you won’t have to worry about them ripping or anything like that. The main reasons for this is you get abrasion proof leather palms and Molded EVA foam on your knuckles.

The combination of these two will come in ultra handy if you plan on using your hands out there.

Snow Will Not Get In Either

Have you ever been skiing and taken a fall – snow gets everywhere. You’ll be pulling it out your jacket, your boots and your gloves. It definitely doesn’t feel good and can really make your fingers cold.

What’s great with these gloves is snow won’t get in, even if you take a tumble at a fast speed. The reason for this is the SuperCinch gauntlets. This makes sure the wrist area is closed nice and tight. The elements stay out and the warmth stays in.

You’ll appreciate this feature even if you don’t ski either. If you’re someone that hikes in the winter or need a product to keep your hands warm, you’ll like this too.

Who Do I Think Should Purchase These Gloves

First off, you’re going to want to look else where if you’re looking for a budget deal – that doesn’t describe these gloves. There’s other heated gloves that’re more affordable if you’re short on cash. Those low cost gloves won’t be the same quality as the Lucent’s, though.

If you’re someone that spends a lot of time outdoors, these are perfect for you. So skiers, snowboarders, outdoor workers, hikers, climbers, and more.

These gloves truly are made to stand up to subzero temperatures and harsh elements. You’ll find these on the hands of people that climb intimidating mountains and explore frozen tundras.

If you’re just looking for something to shovel with you won’t necessarily need these either. But it wouldn’t hurt to have these at your disposal.

You Get A Lifetime Warranty!

Some people might be a little skeptical and may not want to shell at the cash necessary to buy these gloves. But you need to realize the type of quality you’re getting.

Outdoor Research is as trusted as it comes with outdoor gear. You’ll find their jackets, ski pants, gloves, tents, and more on very serious outdoor enthusiasts. I’m not talking about little stuff either. Their brand is represented in places like the Summit of Mount Everest and other places like this.

You know when you purchase from Outdoor Research you’re getting as quality as you can get. And it shows with their guarantee, which is a lifetime.

So if this product rips or anything like that, you can get it replaced for free. So spending a few hundred on one pair of gloves for the rest of your life seems a little more reasonable when you look at it this way.

How To Determine The Correct Size

The sizing for these gloves is unisex and not separated into women and men. Getting the right size is very easy, though. In order to measure your hand correctly, measure like the picture below demonstrates:

Measure the circumference of your hand, which is right under your knuckles and don’t measure around your thumb. To get the length, measure right under the bottom of your palm to the top of your middle finger.

Here’s what size you should get for length:

  • 6.5 inches to 7 inches should get extra small.
  • 7 inches to 7.5 inches should get small.
  • 7.5 inches to 8 inches should get medium.
  • 8 inches to 8.5 inches should get large.
  • 8.5 inches to 9 inches should get extra large.

Here’s what size you should get for circumference:

  • 6.5 inches to 7.25 inches should get extra small.
  • 7.25 to 8 inches should get small.
  • 8 inches to 8.75 inches should get medium.
  • 8.75 inches to 9.5 inches should get large.
  • 9.5 inches to 10.25 inches should get extra large.

Lucent FAQ’S

1) Question: How much do they cost?

Answer: If there’s one drawback with this pair of gloves it’s the price. This can be a good thing, though, because it shows the quality of this product. So how much are they going to cost? A pretty good amount, depending on the size you get and where you purchase from. If you want to know the exact price hit the red “Check Exact Price Here” button up top or below.

2) Question: Would you recommend buying them online?

Answer: Definitely! In fact this is probably the only way to get them because most sporting good stores don’t carry this type of gear. If you’re a little skeptical you shouldn’t be. There’s plenty of awesome places to buy this product online.

3) Question: Which type of person should consider these?

Answer: There’s two classes of people that should consider this product – anyone that suffers from chronic cold hands or any person that finds themselves often in the outdoors during the winter. If you have a hard time keeping your fingers warm you’ll have a hard time finding a better glove to do that. In fact, you might have to shut off the heat from time to time to let your hands cool down. Also, this glove is perfect for people involved in outdoor activities like skiing, climbing, hiking, and more.

4) Question: How well known is Outdoor Research as a company and what’s their reputation?

Answer: Outdoor Research is a very well known company and you can find their gear on some very serious outdoorsman. The founder, Ron Gregg, actually started this company after seeing his friend develop frostbite. His goal was to create gear that would prevent this from happening to others. You can say he succeeded and you won’t have to look farther than the Lucent’s to see this.

5) Question: What happens if these rip?

Answer: These gloves are made from high quality materials and there’s goat leather on the palms to prevent any ripping or tearing. But sometimes holes develop. Like I said up top, though, you get a full refund if something does happen.

There’s Not Many Gloves Better Than This One

If you’re truly in the market for a high quality set of heated gloves, you’ll have a hard time finding a better one than the Lucent’s. These gloves have been tested against the worst of Mother Nature and have stood up time and time again.

If you decide on this product you can be sure you’re going to be warm, protected and comfortable – what more can you ask for?
